Full Job Description

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London.   • Work throughout all of sections of the department on a rotational basis
  • Work a mixture of early, day, and late shifts, and weekend and bank holidays
  • Be responsible for the reception/data entry and processing of clinical specimens, these may include a range of swabs, body fluids, and blood samples
  • Be involved in setting up a range of routine automated and manual laboratory tests
  • Assist with the quality management of the laboratory (for example quality control procedures and audit as required)

    Is able to communicate well with staff in the department and service users
  • Is able to plan and use their own time economically and effectively
  • Has a high degree of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Has a working knowledge of laboratory areas
  • Is able to work day and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays
