At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

Our values are the fundamental tenets shared across our organisation and the standards we hold ourselves to: We do things right | We aim higher | We challenge the accepted | We live inclusion.

People are Jacobs' greatest asset, and we offer a competitive package to retain and attract the best talent. In addition to the benefits you'd expect, UK employees also receive free single medical cover and digital GP service, family-friendly benefits such as enhanced parental leave pay and free membership of employee assistance and parental programs, plus reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships.

About the opportunity

This role is within our Cities & Places team where we integrate data, technology, mobility and connectivity to improve economic and social equity and the resiliency of cities and communities. From sustainable infrastructure and inclusive placemaking solutions, to reimagined health systems transforming future models of care, we help governments, cities, communities and private-sector clients rethink how they deliver a better life for future generations.

We are currently looking for a talented Project Manager with experience in leading medium to large scale and / or complex projects in the built environment. We seek candidates who can demonstrate essential PM skills within complex buildings projects and who can evidence an ability to provide innovative solutions to clients.

We are looking for candidates who can lead and manage consultancy services to major clients. Due to the varied nature of the potential work, candidates are required to be familiar with the RIBA project development stages, from concept through to detailed design and construction / implementation using the project lifecycle stages and scope agreed with the client.

  • This role is based on a Hybrid basis from our office in Birmingham
  • Full time employment with Jacobs is 40 hours per week; work-life balance and flexibility is a key focus area for Jacobs and so we're happy to discuss part-time and flexible working hours / patterns to suit you and our business
  • Your ability to secure SC level clearance would be very advantageous

Here's what you'll need

  • To be degree qualified in an appropriate engineering, construction or management subject (other qualifications will be considered) with experience across Building refurbishment and regeneration Projects (not Construction)
  • Ideally be a member of, or working towards accreditation of the Association of Project Management (APM) or other relevant recognised professional body with experience of Contract administration utilising various forms of procurement, ideally including NEC 3 and NEC 4
  • Experience of effectively planning, monitoring and controlling the work of self and others, taking account of the priorities of projects while owning client relationships and contributing to the growth of our business
  • A good understanding of UK CDM & Health and Safety Legislation - drive a positive HS&W culture within a project

Our culture

Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity. We put people at the heart of our business and we truly believe that by supporting one another through our culture of caring, we all succeed. We value positive mental health and a sense of belonging for all employees. Find out more about life at Jacobs.

We aim to embed inclusion and diversity in everything we do. We know that if we are inclusive, we're more connected, and if we are diverse, we're more creative. We accept people for who they are, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, mental health, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and whether you're pregnant or on family leave. This is reflected in our wide range of Global Employee Networks centred on inclusion and diversity - ACE, Careers, Enlace, Harambee, OneWorld, Prism, Women and Vetnet.

Jacobs partners with VERCIDA to help us attract and retain diverse talent. As a Disability Confident employer, we will interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a vacancy. We welcome applications from candidates who are seeking flexible working and from those who may not meet all the listed requirements for a role.
