Full Job Description

The job holder will have a rare opportunity to set up and lead a new team from the ground up. Owing to a rapidly changing business environment we must implement a step change in analytical decision making, digital capability and compliance to process across the Operations team.

To this end, the job holder will be required to lead and give technical direction to a team Business Improvement & Compliance team with trans AHUK accountability, leveraging best practice and implementing new capability as needed.

Typically the team you will manage will have the following responsibilities :

Collaborate transnationally with teams along the Value Stream Management and ensure end to end solutions.

Consulting for different customers on digital development and improvement projects (including the understanding, challenging and translation of the customer into clear 'User Stories' or tasks).

Consolidating data, analysing, visualising and interpreting them in order to provide specific deliverables (e.g. KPIs, Dashboards, Performance Analysis, Business Recommendations, Reports, etc...).

Automating workflows to minimise manual repetitive tasks.

Cataloguing, maintaining and managing Business Owned Tools.

Standardising the methodology of analysis and business KPI data monitoring.

Supporting Service Delivery Managers (Project Leaders) in their accountability to achieve time, cost, quality and performance objectives (using Airbus SQCDP methodology).

Establish connection between the Data Analytics and Performance Management system to allow activity prioritisation according to the top management requirements.

Interface with key stakeholders in AHUK and Airbus Group to ensure strong alignment of process, methods and tools.

Investigate root cause of audit findings, quality escapes, non conformances, Maintenance Occurrence Reports and safety reports and to implement corrective actions and follow up to measure the success of the actions in the operating area.

Define competency and training programs for the Operations team to ensure that we have optimised our capability versus the business needs.

Deliver and / or facilitate training programs to the Operations team.

Implement process improvements and workplace standardisation in both the operational areas (maintenance bases) as function (offices) inline with Airbus Operating System (AOS).

Participate in and / or lead AHUK transformation projects as required.

Commitment to building an inclusive and diverse workplace for the Business Improvement & Compliance team, ensuring the development and growth of individuals and the team as a whole.

Negotiation level in English.

Ability to solve problems and seek root causes through data.

Excellent G Suite skills essential.

Experience with data management.

Experience with stakeholder management and a customer oriented mindset.

Understanding of Performance Management (SQCDP).

Structured way of working with resilience and proactiveness.

Ability to simplify the business and communicate easily.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, thinks of the team before oneself.

Experience of working in a highly regulated industry (nuclear, mod or airline experience, NHS.

Understanding of use and management of a Safety Management System and a Quality management System

Strong Program Management skills

Experience of leading (or participating in) root cause analysis investigations

Management of team budgets, people development, and team staffing tasks

Education, Qualifications or Training

Essential

Degree level qualification in engineering, aerospace or operations management

Desirable

Experience using SAP and Envision.

Good knowledge in Airbus Analytics Platforms.

Programming skills are a benefit.

Working understanding of EASA or CAA or MIl equivalent Part 145 and Part CAMO regulations.

Location of the position is flexible providing the candidate is capable of leading a geographically diverse team and is willing to travel regularly between AHUK locations
