Avantor is seeking a Junior Procurement Associate to join our team based in Cambridge. In this role, you'll take ownership of supporting scientists from the procurement side of science, ensuring that they have the materials and equipment needed for their work., You'll join a team of 4-5 Buyers and their Team Leader. They are an excellent team, supporting each other and having catch-ups daily. The Team is working from home, and you will too, however, we need you at the office during your training. You'll belong to our business department Lab and Product Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry., Placing orders on behalf of scientists - purchasing consumables, reagents, chemicals as well as laboratory equipment for UK and US
Responding to suppliers/end users/clients queries by email
Making sure COUPA and Capex systems are updated, as well as documentation and invoice reconciliation

This is a part-time, temporary position - you'll be working 18.75 hours a week on a 9-month fixed-term contract., This role will be a part-time temporary (9 months) position based in a brand-new facility at the customer site - The Discovery Centre, Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge (moving to a hybrid/work from home model working after training) .
