The Benefits Management function sits at the heart of finance, supporting the agency in delivering our ambitious transformational activities, aimed at offering best value services to the wider UK public. As a Benefits Realisation Officer you will play a key role in ensuring that measurable outcomes of projects and change initiatives are successfully realised. You will work closely with projects and finance teams to support delivery of business case and benefit outcomes, providing expert advice to the business. As such, you will need to think creatively, have a good eye for financial detail and the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders of all levels. The Insolvency Service is a great place to work, learn and grow your career! This is a new role within the Strategic Finance function. Working alongside the Benefits Realisation Manager you will support the continued organisational growth in benefits management capability. You will do this by identifying opportunities for continued process improvements, whilst championing best practice and ensuring compliance with appropriate financial standards. The Benefit Realisation Officer role aligns to the Project Delivery Capability Framework (equivalent to Benefit Manager Level 3), spanning the Project Delivery and Finance function professions. Within our organisational structure, benefit management sits within the Finance Directorate, aligning to financial processes for valuation, assessment and appraisal. Responsibilities Optimise processes:
- Actively seek opportunities to improve benefit realisation processes, aligned to financial reporting cycles and best practice standards.
- Support project teams in developing quality benefits profiles from the outset by offering professional advice on classifications and standards.
- Explain how benefits support delivery of strategic goals and ensure these can be reported through the appropriate governance boards.
- Ensure valuation calculations are underpinned by robust assumptions that can be tested and challenged where necessary. Support value for money outcomes:
- Work closely with finance teams to ensure the impact of benefits on efficiency and business plans are clear and understood.
- Identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies to ensure benefit and efficiency outcomes are optimised.
- Support the development of non-financial benefits best practice and guidance, including how to prioritise, quantify and measure non-financial value outcomes.
- Ensure that risks and opportunities are appropriately considered, providing robust challenge as necessary. Provide advice and educate:
- Support the continued organisational growth in benefits management capability.
- Champion the use of benefit management best practice, providing quality advice to a range of stakeholders and senior managers.
- Work with the Benefits Manager to deliver a plan for upskilling our teams through development and delivery of training produces, tools and guidance.
