Carer / Personal Assistant / Direct Payments

I am looking for an enthusiastic, experienced with ASD and flexible Personal Assistant to support a fun loving 13 year old Autistic boy who loves gaming, Sonic the Hedgehog and much more, to access social activities at weekends and possibly after school if activities allow. He is verbal and attends YBC ASD unit. The family will pay additional travel expense for journeys outside of the local area. This is a long-term position to ensure continuity., To help support / access the following activities. (This list is always evolving when new things are tried and enjoyed) Engaging in fun and to support social skills, also to encourage independence in the following:

• Swimming / water activities
• Cinema & Bowling
• Visits to Margam Park / Bryngarw Park
• Playgrounds / Parks
• Trampoline Park / Soft Play
• Amusement Arcades
• McDonalds
• Beach / Fairground
• Techniquest
This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, at no cost to the applicant. A portable DBS on the Update System would be advantageous. A full UK driving licence and the use of a car is required, Vehicle Business Insurance is essential for this role (The family will help towards a reasonable cost of this should it incur an additional expense to the applicant)
