Full Job Description

We are looking for a hardworking, energetic and reliable caretaker to work alongside our existing site team, maintaining our large school premises. The role will be across the federation, working at our two sites as and when required. Skills in carpentry and other areas of DIY would be an advantage.

Preferred hours of work would be from 1pm to 7pm daily although this may be open to negotiation. Hours during the school holidays could be worked more flexibly. The role will involve carrying out DIY tasks, lifting and distributing supplies and furniture, maintenance of the school site, equipment and service records, such as fire alarm and emergency lighting testing, legionella testing, working under the direction of the school site managers. It will also include being responsible for site security and locking up the Infant school every night.

The post is all year round (not term time only) and will be subject to a probationary period of 6 months.

Longlevens Primary Federation is made up of Longlevens Infant School, Longlevens Junior School and Playdays Early Years.

We are a large organisation on the outskirts of the city of Gloucester and serve the community of Longlevens and its environs.

The schools are on separate sites about 500 metres from each other. We have over 870 children in our care.
