Full Job Description

A fixed term opportunity has arisen at EKHUFT for a new role as Case Allocation Manager, predominantly to support the histopathology service within Cellular Pathology with the implementation of a points based caseload distribution of diagnostic work to its medical staffing. This will include digital distribution as digital pathology rolls out within both the EKHUFT team and the wider Kent and Medway Pathology Network. After the 1 year fixed term period and on the proviso that the fixed term period has been successful, funding will be sought to make the position substantive.

The successful applicant will ideally have demonstrable experience in a UKAS accredited laboratory and have a clear understanding of the issues at play within a busy multi-disciplinary diagnostic service. The successful candidate will be organised and be capable of demonstrating good time-management skills, have a good understanding of scientific principals and the importance of laboratory protocol.

We currently hold UKAS Accreditation ISO:15189, and this post supports the Quality Lead as well as acting as the deputy to the Chief BMS in all matters pertaining to histological methods.

Cellular Pathology is based at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, providing a wide range of cellular diagnostics in a team based environment.
