Full Job Description

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Catering Instructor to join our fantastic team at Crookhey Hall, Cockerham.

This is a great opportunity to develop creative learning opportunities for pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.

About the role

The post holder will be expected to liaise with staff across the organisation to ensure a consistency of approach regarding standards, support, transition and quality of provision. The role will involve raising standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the faculty, monitor and support pupil progress in conjunction with SLT lead for curriculum, utilising faculty data and be accountable for pupil progress and outcomes.

To be accountable for leading and developing the faculty curriculum, ensuring the range of subjects and qualifications are regularly reviewed in response to national developments and the needs of the school and students with annual writing and maintenance of Faculty Development Plan but also take the lead in developing whole school cross-curricular links to increase the breadth and scope of how Outdoor Education impacts the whole school curriculum.

Grade 4/C or equivalent in GCSE Maths and English
A range of Catering qualifications
Food Hygiene Certificate
A deeply held conviction that every pupil can achieve and reach their potential
The belief that all pupils deserve a life of choice and opportunity
Ability to be adaptable in a fast-paced extremely environment
Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils
Experience in SEMH/ASD
Desirable

Qualified to degree level with QTS and above (highly desirable)
Experience of working with pupils from challenging backgrounds
Evidence of continually improving the outcomes of pupils
Driving Licence

Crookhey Hall School has a 15-acre setting in countryside south of Cockerham, near Lancaster. Due to the location, it would be beneficial for candidates to have a driving licence.

The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each pupil's potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide pupils with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment.
