Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated clinician to join our dynamic inpatient transformation team in Acute Mental Health Services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced psychologist, occupational therapist, nurse, or social worker with a passion for improving patient care and service delivery., About the Role: As a Band 7 clinician, you will be central to the exciting work of improving the quality of care for patients with complex emotional needs. We know how much of an impact an admission can have on someones sense of themselves and hope for the future; and want to find innovative ways to offer care in our inpatient settings, that contributes to someones recovery and progress. Your key responsibility will be to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions like SAFTI- Self Accessed Flexible Treatment Intervention, the 52-hour protocol and Trusted Assessor Approach. You will work closely with the Inpatient Psychological Therapies Professional Lead in the Adult Mental Health Directorate and will be overseen by the Inpatient Transformation Programme and the Complex Emotional Needs Quality Improvement Board. We particularly want to advance co-production, in-line with the Personalised Care Framework and DPT Together strategy; and therefore you will work closely with a Senior Peer Support Worker, bringing valuable lived experience of using inpatient services, which is integral to shaping the care we provide. Youll have the chance to collaborate with the inpatient transformation team, with access to support including Quality Improvement (QI), Programme Management Office (PMO), and administrative support. This work sits alongside improvements being made in the community teams, which will also need to be aligned.

  • You are a qualified clinician (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, or Social Worker) with specific experience in working with people with complex emotional needs this is likely to include offering evidence-based interventions and supervising others to do so.
  • You bring strong expertise in service improvement and are committed to enhancing patient care.
  • You have excellent communication skills and thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
  • You are passionate about mental health and the difference that effective, compassionate care can make in peoples lives., We not only recruit based on qualifications & experience - we recruit individuals who possess & demonstrate the behaviours which underpin our Trusts core values. These include such attributes as showing a commitment to quality of care, improving lives of others, giving respect, dignity & compassion. We can bring those values to life in our everyday tasks by giving a smile; making time for people; challenging ourselves & others, & being open to new ideas.
  • We are committed to being an inclusive employer & applications are encouraged & welcomed from all sections of the community, regardless of any protected characteristics as governed by the Equality Act 2010. Part time & flexible working applications will be considered & supported, where possible. We particularly encourage applicants with lived experience of mental health conditions, neurodiversity or learning disabilities. We are a Disability Confident Leader.
