The role will primarily deal with NDR Regional Classes where there is a unit wide or cross unit impact due to, for example, reputational of financial risk. The role is essential to supporting our future surveying talent pipeline and providing valuable technical advice, leadership, and guidance to the Agency. The role includes:

• Delivering Non-Domestic Rating casework and providing technical leadership, guidance, and support to caseworkers.
• Lead, motivate, and inspire others to deliver results including sharing your professional knowledge to support the development of others. Using these skills to coach and nurture colleagues undertaking professional qualifications.
• To set and maintain strategic overview of the framework for the work of the team, including embedding the VOA vision and values.
• To offer advice and guidance on complex issues which cannot be resolved within the normal rules or precedents.
• To Undertake individual casework where a unit-wide impact of a point of wider principle is at stake.
• To provide advice on a broad range of property types across different valuation methodologies, supporting through the Check, Challenge, Appeal process.
• To provide expert witness testimony and advocacy in complex litigation at Valuation Tribunal England / Valuation Tribunal Wales / Upper Tribunal Lands Chamber and beyond. (Full training and support will be provided).
• To act as a Counsellor/Supervisor to colleagues undertaking profession qualifications.
