Depatment: Catering Line Manager: Catering Manager Working Hours and Basis: Full time - Average 40 hours per week between 7:00am - 8:00pm alternate weekends Start Date: ASAP An Experienced Chef with a passion for food, superb organisational skills and exceptional standards of customer service is required to join a busy and prestigious Catering Department at Moreton Hall School. To assist the head chef or catering manager on the general day-to-day running of a fast paced kitchen. Moreton Hall operates for 51 weeks of the year, providing all meals for boarders, day pupils and staff during the academic term, and for those courses which are run by the school during the school holidays. Moreton Hall also caters for conferences and other functions as required by internal departments or external organisations. Job Outline and Responsibilities
- Keeping the kitchen environment clean and tidy at all times.
- To carry out the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen as appropriate.
- The cooking and serving of meals to the high standards required.
- Ensuring correct stock rotation of ambient frozen and refrigerated stock.
- Observing all current legislation in regard to health and safety in relation to their workenvrionment.
- Attend all training courses to mainting understanding of current legislation in regard to workingpractices in the department.
- Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role.

- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Awareness of allergen legislation.
- Competency in following and helping to manage HACCP systems. Experience
- Experience in nutrition for pupils of different ages would be preferred but full training will be given.
- Competency in following and helping to manage HACCP systems.
- Broad knowledge of all dietary requirements and allergens.
- Have experience in running a kitchen when necessary. Personal Qualities
- Willing attitude to promote and ensure the good reputation of the school and carry out any other duties commensurate with the post.
- Works well within a team or as an individual.
- Ability to display a real passion for food and customer service.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Flexibility and Time Keeping. Additional Information 25 days paid holiday per year plus bank holidays or days in lieu if bank holidays are worked. Salary depentent on experience.
