Full Job Description
Constable in order to inform decisions by solicitors to defend or settle claims. What you'll do: Investigate Civil Claims: Gather and assess evidence for civil claims against the Chief Constable to help the Senior Lawyer (Civil Claims) decide whether to defend or settle cases. Initial Claim Assessment: Provide an initial evaluation of civil claims to determine the necessary level of investigation. Data Interrogation: Use force computer systems and databases to support investigations. Witness Interviews: Interview witnesses and obtain witness statements, documentary, and other evidence. Written Updates: Provide written updates and assessments on the outcomes of investigations. Disclosure Preparation: Assess and prepare materials for disclosure to claimants or their representatives.
Investigative Skills: Proven ability to conduct investigations, collate, and appraise relevant information. Case Management: Ability to organize and manage allocated cases within set time frames. Critical Analysis: Skill in critically analysing information and identifying necessary sources to progress investigations. Independent and Team Work: Proven ability to work independently on allocated claims or as part of a team to contribute to investigations. Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to obtain essential information for investigating and assessing claims. Accurate Reporting: Ability to provide accurate assessments and reports to inform decisions. Professional Communication: Ability to communicate investigation outcomes effectively and professionally to external parties.

£29,055 - £31,296 per annum
