Elizabeth Fry Charity runs a Ministry of Justice Approved Premises in Reading, accommodating up to 24 women, mostly on licence from prison. We strive to be an excellent provider of accommodation and support for women in the criminal justice system. We are looking for a part time (20 hours per week) Cleaner to join our small, committed team. Annual Salary £13,137 Hours of work to be agreed with successful candidate. You need to be responsible, adaptable, open-minded and self motivated, capable of working in a lively environment and sensitive to the needs of others. You will join an enthusiastic, supportive and committed team and will receive regular supervision and appropriate training for your particular needs. Role Purpose: To ensure that Approved Premises is maintained to an acceptable level of cleanliness and hygiene. To assist the Referral and Premises Manager and Housekeeper in monitoring and maintaining health and safety concerns. Hours: 20 hours per week. Hours to be agreed with successful candidate. Main Duties and Responsibilities Delivery of Services and Standards

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the Approved Premises, under the supervision of the Housekeeper (to include emptying bins, washing laundry, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, using the hoover/carpet cleaner).
• Ensure resident bedrooms are serviced promptly, in readiness for new arrivals.
• Complete all periodic tasks, such as flipping mattresses, dusting lampshades, cleaning interior windows and carpet cleaning.
• Work to daily job lists, as well as arrivals and departures lists.
• Alongside the Housekeeper, undertake general caretaking tasks around the Approved Premises, such as the replacement of light bulbs, general repairs etc.
• Complete Health and Safety checks, as required.
• Work as an effective member of the Elizabeth Fry Charity team, in accordance with agreed requirements and objectives.
Management of Physical and Financial Resources Physical Resources
• Ensure that any health and safety and/or building maintenance issues are reported to the Referral and Premises Manager.
• Follow all health and safety, fire and Elizabeth Fry Charity security procedures.
Financial Resources
• Monitor the stock level of cleaning supplies.
General
• Contribute to the induction of new staff.
• Undertake training, as required by the Approved Premises Manager and Charity.
• Comply with all of Elizabeth Fry Charity policies and expectations.
• Undertake any other duties requested of you by the CEO/Operations Manager/Referral and Premises Manager/Finance Manager/Housekeeper, to ensure the Approved Premises is able to function as required.
