Full Job Description
We are looking to appoint a reliable and trustworthy individual to join our dedicated team of cleaners. This role will provide continuous cleaning of the site throughout the stated duration to enhance our working and learning environment. We are looking for a professional and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to be flexible. Working as part of the Site Team, you should be able to work proactively and independently to ensure the efficient cleanliness of the Academy facilities.
Previous experience is not necessary, as you will be given a full induction and training programme.
In this role, you will work from 3pm to 7pm per day, 5 days per week. An additional 60 hours (across 15 days) will be required during the school holidays (to be agreed upon in advance).
Beacon Academy is a split-site, semi-rural, mixed 11-18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 1,664 students, including over 320 students in our Sixth Form. We are situated centrally in Crowborough on the outskirts of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are close to Tunbridge Wells and the South Coast. The vast majority of our staff travel to Beacon from a variety of locations within the southeast, including Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells.
In September 2022, Beacon Academy, together with Uplands Academy in Wadhurst, became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the Trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools.
We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for our students and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. MARK Education Trust is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

Closing date: 10am on Friday 28th March 2025.
NB: we advise applying promptly for this post as we reserve the right to close and interview early if sufficient suitable applications have been received.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance and suitable references.
