  • We are looking for a friendly individual with a positive approach, to work as part of the team in the Breast Unit. Suitably qualified applicants are invited to apply for the post of Clerical Assistant, joining a dedicated team of staff providing administrative support to the Department. The Breast Screening Service invites approximately 50,000 clients per year for well woman breast screening and also provides a Breast Symptomatic Service. This post holder will be a valuable member of the Team and will often be the first point of contact in representing the Service/Department. A flexible approach to work within the core hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm., he post holder will join a team of friendly staff motivated to provide an efficient administration service to patients attending the department and will include but not limited to: provision of an effective and efficient administration office, dealing with queries and telephone calls in a professional manner. The post holder will assist with data entry using appropriate IT systems. Good attention to detail and accuracy is a requirement of the role. The role will require the post holder to collect notes from Health Records. Provide cover at reception facilitating logging of attendees and booking appointments. Dealing with queries from service users including GP, patients and other external departments. General office duties as required., This post holder will be invaluable to the Breast Screening & Symptomatic Service helping to facilitate the administration service, providing cover at reception facilitating the logging of attendees against clinic lists, booking appointments using appropriate IT systems. Dealing with queries from service users including the multi-disciplinary team within the breast service and with staff from other departments and external organisations, General Practitioners, patients and their representatives in a professional and courteous manner that is consistent with all legislation, policies and procedures including data protection and confidentiality, Sourcing any relating information that might help deal with a query, taking accurate written messages and passing more complex queries on to relevant staff (if appropriate to work area). Operating various computer systems to facilitate the maintenance of client details dealing with queries relating to bookings, cancellation and re-appointing of appointments within agreed booking schedules and targets, ensuring that clinics are run effectively and adhering to all related legislation, policies and procedures. Adhering to the right results policy producing Breast Screening Results. General office duties including filing, housekeeping, photocopying and maintaining stock of routine supplies. The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent having a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and have good interpersonal and organisational skills and be a good team players as well as working individually using own initiative.

For any new employees commencing employment with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust , you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period.
