Full Job Description
Reporting directly to the Paediatric medical staff the post holder will be an expert in paediatric conditions, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for expanded scope of practice. Full MSc in advanced clinical practice is required.
Required to provide specialist paediatric advice to patients, carers and colleagues with regards to the diagnosis and treatment of complex paediatric conditions. This will include the provision of advice to paediatric staff in the care and treatment of patients. In the absence of the medical registrar the post holder may be the most senior member of staff on duty and will be responsible for the clinical supervision of nursing staff and junior doctors., Reporting directly to the Paediatric medical staff the post holder will be an expert in paediatric conditions, complex decision-making skills and clinical competencies for expanded scope of practice. He/she will sit on the tier one (Junior doctor) rota initially, participating fully in this rota. Dependant on developing the necessary expertise, demonstrable through completion of agreed competencies, he/she will be expected to contribute to the tier two (middle grade) duties.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
