Join a committed leadership team, working closely and effectively with the Head of Service and Operational Lead. Contribute to service development and innovation and ongoing service improvement. Provide clinical oversight to support therapists from various clinical backgrounds. Support in screening and triage of referrals. Undertake initial consultations with families and social workers. Be part of leadership team meetings, including considering referrals and allocation of cases. Provide regular supervision and support to associate and employed practitioners . Offer consultation, supervision and training in house and externally. Be part of the quality assurance team. Maintain a small caseload. Contribute to the recruitment and induction of new members of the team. Contribute to the development of online training, resources and website materials. A core therapeutic qualification. We welcome applications from a wide range of relevant clinical disciplines including Psychologists, Creative Therapists, Psychotherapists etc. Registration with HCPC, UKCP or equivalent governing body. A minimum of 5 years post-qualification clinical experience. A minimum of two years in a leadership role with experience of : providing supervision and / or management to other practitioners. contributing to service development and strategic decision making. Experience of working with families with complex trauma and young people whose presentations include high risk and complexity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including making complex information accessible to clients of all ages, background and abilities. An interest in research would be an advantage, as would experience working with neurodiversity. About the Adoption Support, Attachment and Trauma Service at Oakdale This service is a specialist provision for assessing and treating attachment difficulties, trauma and under-developed sensorimotor systems that can be associated with children who are adopted, fostered or under a Special Guardianship Order. The service also has a specialist psychology led team providing autism, ADHD and cognitive assessments. Over the last ten years, Oakdale has developed a strong and committed team and is an accredited provider of adoption support services for Local Authorities throughout Yorkshire and the services are funded by the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF) and we work closely with our colleagues in Social Care and Health to ensure that our clients receive a comprehensive, joined up service. We see the profound impact early experiences of trauma, neglect, loss and disrupted attachments can have on the developing childs wellbeing, their family life and social relationships, as well as their ability to self-regulate. Difficulties during key developmental stages sometimes lead to young people distrusting and rejecting adults, who in turn may find themselves overwhelmed, exhausted and struggling with being the parents they would like to be. Supporting the whole family system as well as the young person can positively impact relationships, future wellbeing and development. Oakdale recognises each child as an individual. Our comprehensive assessment and treatment programmes are designed to meet the particular requirements of each young person and their family.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our experienced and committed team as Clinical Lead for the Adoption Support and Trauma Service. This is a permanent employed position, based in Leeds or Harrogate. 30 to hours per week, salary £54,000 to £62,000 wte depending on experience., Opportunity to work with a skilled, knowledgeable, trauma and attachment informed team.
