Full Job Description

This is a short term teaching post for 6. The aim of the teaching post is to work alongside the other Clinical Teaching Fellows, Your Clinical Lead and the Undergraduate Education Manager to both deliver teaching to medical students at NUH and also to develop new initiatives when teaching students.
1. Paediatrics and Child Health (100%)

a. Supporting medical students in clinical setting

- Being present on the wards/on calls to help medical students navigate through clinical environment.

- Provide help/ additional bedside teaching where required

- Deliver practical skills session for medical students, including workplace based assessments, case based discussion tutorials, clinical reasoning case based teaching and professional development forums.

b. Supporting paediatric teaching sessions and projects

- Provide additional staffing support to simulated ward rounds/ workshops/ surgical teachings/WPBAs

- Work with current teaching fellows in developing projects

You may be asked to support teaching in other areas of the clinical course when the Paediatrics and Child Health Course is not running.

c. Projects/ research

- To carry out projects within the department as required

- There will be opportunities in this post to support any modules that you may undertake as part of the PGCert in Medical Education. We would be able to fund 50% per module.

- Help to develop teaching materials to support the system teaching/cases

- Help to develop and deliver bedside teaching sessions that support the clinical cases discussed

- Review effectiveness of new curriculum and adapt teaching delivery as needed
