Full Job Description

Responsible for all aspects of Colleague Services support functions across a group of Schools. Supporting the department in the provision of an effective and colleague-focused function across the Trust, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation.

Partnering School Leaders to ensure that Colleague Services processes and people management meet their needs and that of the pupils.

Working closely with Finance and Operational Business Partners to ensure that staffing meets budgetary requirements.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

General Duties

The provision of operational advice and being the first point of contact for HR and day to day people management.

Provide expert guidance, coaching, constructive challenge, and objective feedback as required to meet needs of the Trust and individual schools.

Advising schools on recruitment and selection strategies and co-ordinate the recruitment and selection processes for schools.

Ensure that all relevant corporate Colleague policies and procedures are followed: e.g. sickness absence, pay adjustments, pay policies and Leave of Absence.

Advising line managers on the application of policies and procedures, escalating more complex case work as required.

Manage the Colleague Service MIS, to include input and oversight of all colleague records. To include starters, leavers and changes as required. At all times ensuring this is in line with legal/statutory regulations and Trust T&Cs.

Act as a system administrator for the MIS, making background changes where required and ensuring that to date and historical data and relevant code tables are accurate.

Support the Colleague Services department by reporting on relevant areas and ensuring proactive management of colleague relations issues.

Proactive management of all colleague relations in schools and ensuring that line managers are supported in ensuring policies are followed.

Deliver training to line managers and other staff as required on any people management issues and policy application.

Ensuring Compliance with statutory training as outlined and required by KCSIE and/or Trust Protocols.

Working with Trust Administration, oversee the HR administration processes of starters and leavers and contractual changes, including the preparation of contractual documentation and payroll documentation as required.

Ensuring all recruitment is managed in accordance with the LAAT Recruitment Policy and that meets all Trust requirements for advertising, equality and diversity and equity of opportunity.

Managing colleagues electronic and/or paper files in accordance with Trust requirements and GPDR guidelines.

Actively promote equality and diversity issues across the organisation.

Participate in staff consultations as and when required.

Keep abreast with up-to-date legal case law and any changing in legislation in relation to colleague management.

Actively seek out system and policy efficiencies and proactive in ensuring an effective colleague management function.

Be an ambassador for LAAT and represent the Colleague Services function and the Trust, both externally and internally.
