Commercial Lawyer

We take an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for our Legal team, supporting the commercial areas as part of a business focussed team here at London Gatwick.

What is the role?

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Lawyer, this role will provide legal advice on commercial matters, with a specific focus on Procurement and IT/ technology. The role includes drafting, negotiating, and advising on a range of contracts; acting as a trusted business partner to stakeholders, providing ad hoc advice on other commercial matters.

What will you do?

• Provision of timely and accurate legal support and advice to the business


• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a range of commercial agreements including NDA's, software and SAAS agreements.


• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing agreements across a variety of areas such as: goods and services, outsourcing, IT services, data processing, retail & construction.


• Supporting the development and improvement of a legal precedent bank.


• Provision of advice and training on impacts of various legislative requirements


• Liaising with key stakeholders across the business.


• Assist business in managing disputes with third parties (including liaising with external counsel as required)
  
  A clear understanding of the commercial targets and strategic requirements of the business.


• Experience as a qualified lawyer, ideally in house, dealing with complex and high value matters.


• Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial deals, including procurement and technology transactions.


• Understands and can explain risks, to question and test intended courses of action with stakeholders


• Capable of analysing and advising on complex legal and policy issues from a commercial perspective


• A self-starter, highly motivated and able to function independently in a "hands-on" environment.


• Ability to translate legal and commercial understanding into practical and actionable advice, understanding and anticipating the consequences of that advice.


• Ability to work across functions and comfortable interacting with all levels of the business
