Full Job Description

Reporting directly to BU Senior Commercial Manager the job holder is accountable for tactical Commercial leadership, management, organisation, systems, and processes which will be key enablers in ensuring that the BU operates successfully and meets its contractual deliverables and growth strategy.

  • Demonstrate leadership commitment to safety and security, delivering financial and programme efficiency and performance.
  • Define, mitigate, and manage commercial risk for the business area.
  • Work effectively with others, (projects, functions, customers, and key stakeholders), building required relationships and interfaces within the business, ensuring the delivery of value and agile working.
  • Deploy commercial leadership, policy and guidance across the business area portfolio supporting collaborative working, ensuring a cohesive approach that supports the achievement of business goals.
  • Provide strategic advice and input to evolve and optimise the utilisation and potential of the skills and capabilities within the organisation.
  • Influence contractual discussions and strategic sourcing decisions with the Field Solutions business unit.
  • Developing and implement strategies for engaging with the supply chain.
  • Working within the Supply Chain strategy administer large multi-discipline contracts with the supply chain including pre-contract engagement. Ensure UK contracting, contract law and pricing principles are included in the tendering and bidding process whilst ensuring general contract and pricing principles are included.

    Degree / MSc qualified (or equivalent) in Commercial Management or relevant discipline
  • A proven track record of success in operating at an equivalent level within a regulated contracting industry.
  • Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
