Full Job Description

ABL Health, Oldham CCG and Oldham Council are partnered to deliver the Health Improvement and Weight Management Service titled Your Health Oldham. This transformative service will play a central role in system change, bringing previously separate lifestyle behaviour change functions together into one service. It seeks to work collaboratively with communities to support the transformation of services for the local population. The service will provide integrated behaviour support for smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol reduction, physical activity, cooking and Health MOTs, all embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive wellbeing.

You will be the Community Engagement Officer, covering Oldham for Your Health Oldhams Health Improvement and Weight Management Service.

You will be expected to lead on community engagement and drive awareness of the service through our promotions, social media and engagement activities. You will be expected to increase referrals into the service by promoting community engagement and building long-lasting relationships with local partners and other varied stakeholders. This will involve being responsible for developing and maintaining strong, positive and long-lasting relationships with a wide range of stakeholder groups at district level, including but not limited to leisure services, the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprises sector, and community services as well as GP practices and childrens services., This role, reporting to the Stakeholder & Partnerships Lead for Your Health Oldham, will work closely with Project Leads for Stop Smoking and Weight Management services to ensure engagement activities align with service needs. It is a varied and rewarding position focused on driving innovation, service development, and delivery. Responsibilities include implementing the ABL Community Engagement Strategy, raising the service profile, building strong local partnerships, managing referral pathways, supporting recruitment and training of volunteers, organising and delivering community health events, and contributing to service monitoring and evaluation. The role also involves attending local meetings, promoting Your Health Oldham, and supporting communications strategies and co-production activities across the borough.
