Ofgem is looking for Compliance Analysts to join us and play a critical role in safeguarding fairness and transparency in the energy market. This is your chance to investigate, analyse, and influence decisions that have a real impact on energy consumers and the environment.

Were offering 5 permanent roles in Delivery & Schemes with opportunities to make a tangible difference in the energy sector. Read on and find out more., The record increase and volatility in global gas prices has put the energy market under severe strain, and is putting upward pressure on customers energy bills. We need to shield consumers from excessive price increases and make sure suppliers are doing what they can to support their customers.

Delivery & Schemes
Ofgem delivers renewable energy and social programmes on behalf of government this is done through the Delivery and Schemes Directorate. These schemes are varied covering renewable heat, renewable electricity, energy efficiency and fuel poverty collectively, they are worth £9bn a year. And crucially, these schemes are critical to hitting our Net Zero goals and providing support for households.
The work involved varies from running the numbers to ensure that suppliers pay the right amount into the Feed-In-Tariff schemes; to checking the different measures suppliers are submitting for approval to meet their ECO obligation or to investigating what is really happening at a renewable heat installation. Through this work, we ensure that consumers and participants get the support they need, without consumers and taxpayers paying more than they should be.
Key Responsibilities and Outputs
Specific responsibilities will vary depending on the role and team in which you will be placed in, but are likely to include:
Investigation and Case Management
+ Contributing to compliance or enforcement activity in relation to energy suppliers, scheme participants and other regulated companies, producing high quality, timely, and robust analysis of potential issues
+ Making evidence-based recommendations: identifying & escalating key issues as well as assisting in the management of risk.
+ Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather and document intelligence on compliance to inform casework, including engaging with whistle-blowers when relevant
Stakeholder Management
+ Effectively communicating the benefits, challenges, and trade-offs of potential compliance or enforcement actions to senior colleagues .
+ Working collaboratively across team boundaries and engaging with key Ofgem functions, developing close links to manage risks and issues .
+ Representing Ofgem externally and building constructive stakeholder relationships to ensure challenges and issues are identified and resolved in consumers interests.
+ Ensuring that guidance given to external stakeholders including suppliers is accurate, legally robust and reflective of the relevant legislation or licence conditions., You will then be asked to provide a 1250 word personal statement evidencing how you meet the essential and desirable skills and capabilities listed in the role profile. Please ensure you demonstrate clearly, within your supporting statement, how you meet each of the essential and desirable skills and capabilities.
