Full Job Description

We are proud of our multi-standard, integrated compliance management system, which we have developed in-house to include Health and Safety, Information Technology, Cyber Security and Business Continuity Planning., We are looking for an ambitious and talented audit and compliance professional to help us take our compliance management to the next level - including extending the scope to cover our financial and legal compliance obligations and standards. You will have to opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, and across the whole business, to build tooling and processes to allow us to achieve further certifications, and to manage our ongoing programme of continuous compliance. Responsibilities

  • Own and control the audit programme, including directing external audits.
  • Extend our existing internal audit capabilities into new areas and to support additional compliance standards.
  • Work with the Extended Leadership Team to ensure smooth operation of the audit programme and timely mitigation and remediation of audit issues.
  • Report compliance and audit status activity, including remediation and mitigation, to the Senior Leadership Team and the board on a regular basis.
  • Refine and manage the internal audit programme to ensure continuous readiness for external audits and to manage compliance with applicable standards, regulations and policies.
  • Ensure that all areas of the Organisation understand their compliance obligations and have appropriate mechanisms in place to meet these.
  • Working with our People and Culture and Training Delivery teams, source or develop training material to ensure that our people understand their compliance obligations.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining Organisation policies and procedures to ensure they recognise and support compliance requirements.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on compliance matters affecting the Organisation, advising peers and the Senior Leadership Team as required.
  • Always ensure that you have up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory landscape, best practices, and industry standards affecting the Organisation.

    A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., finance, legal) or equivalent industry experience.
  • You will have previously run an integrated compliance management system with support for multiple standards.
  • You will have experience running an audit programme across a wide scope.
  • A good understanding of the UK regulatory and compliance landscape.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant certifications in audit and/or compliance management would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry is preferred.
