The Obstetric department consists of a ten bedded labour ward, dedicated obstetric theatre, day assessment unit, dedicated antenatal clinic and combined antenatal and postnatal ward. An alongside midwife-led unit opened 2 years ago. Low risk antenatal care is midwife-led and daily consultant-led antenatal clinics care for women with high-risk pregnancies. There is also a dedicated weekly endocrinology antenatal clinic. Peripheral antenatal clinics are run in the surrounding towns. The current delivery rate is around 2200 deliveries. Salisbury is proudly home to an excellent fertility and reproductive centre, which has on site IVF facilities. Fertility services at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust have been provided since 1997, by a tight-knit, innovative team that are seeking to expand and develop. The service is comprised of two parts: secondary infertility, which is part of the general gynaecology service, and assisted conception, which is a tertiary service and is provided by Salisbury Fertility Centre (SFC), a licensed IVF unit. Both infertility and assisted conception services are provided by three consultants. SFC provides the full range of assisted conception treatments and undertakes around 200 fresh cycles per year and around 180 frozen cycles per year. It provides NHS funded IVF and ICSI cycles for patients from Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Military as well as a small number from other CCGs. It provides treatment for self-funding patients who do not meet the criteria for NHS treatment. Other treatments offered include IUI, fertility preservation, surgical sperm retrieval, donor sperm treatments and surrogacy. Our Gynaecology department includes full ambulatory gynaecology suite with outpatient hysteroscopy room and recovery area, colposcopy, ultrasound facilities and a dedicated MVA suite.
