Three whole time equivalent consultant posts in Genitourinary and HIV Medicine are available at axess sexual health (NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group).
These are full time (10PA) substantive NHS Consultant Posts, post one is a newly created post and two posts are replacement posts.
The post holders will be employed by NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group. The posts will be based within the Liverpool axess service (Hub clinic at Royal Liverpool University Hospital) while also providing clinical sessions to axess Wirral satellite HIV unit in Birkenhead and Sexual Health Wirral integrated sexual health services (Birkenhead and Wallasey).
We are seeking to recruit consultant(s) with specialist skills in Genitourinary medicine/integrated sexual health (including outpatient HIV clinics, and management of sexually transmitted infections). The appointee(s) will contribute in the Clinical Governance programme, and will have the opportunity to participate in research supported by our research lead and dedicated research nurse dependant on individuals experience and interest.
Please see job description and person specification for full information on the posts., Axess Sexual Health (Liverpool) is the largest Sexual Health service provider in Cheshire & Merseyside and one of the largest sexual health providers in the UK.
Axess Liverpool has a total annual attendance of approximately 83,000 patient contacts per year. The service is open 6 days a week and provides open access sexual health clinics. There are specialist clinics available for Young People, HIV, PrEP, men who have sex with men (MSM), Trans and non-binary people, Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) clinics, Complex contraception (including ultrasound), Genital Dermatology and sexual problems (Sexual Problems Service).
The appointment will be a full-time (10 PA) Consultant Physician in GU / Sexual Health, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (part of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group) with office accommodation provided at axess Liverpool - Royal Liverpool Hospital.
The posts are based at axess Liverpool (Linda McCartney Centre @ Royal Liverpool Hospital) with provision of clinical sessions to axess Wirral community HIV unit in Birkenhead and Sexual Health Wirral integrated sexual health services (Birkenhead and Wallasey).
The appointee(s) must hold the MRCP or equivalent and hold Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent and/or specialist registration with the GMC in Genitourinary Medicine, or be within six months of CCT at the time of the interview/appointment., Each post has 10 Programmed Activities -7.5 for direct patient care and 1.5 for supporting activities. Final timetable will be confirmed with the successful candidate on appointment and reviewed after an appropriate period in line with the trusts job planning policy.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing the successful applicant/s DBS application be recovered via salary deduction following start in post. The amount of £23 (standard disclosure) or £43 (enhanced disclosure) will be deducted from salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment. Bank posts require upfront payment. DBS applications submitted from 2nd December will be subject to the new DBS fee of £26.50 (standard) and £54.50 (Enhanced).
