Full Job Description

This exciting appointment is for a newly developed Consultant Psychiatrist (10 PAs) post working within our CAMHS Learning Disability Service. The post-holder will provide a consistent and child-centred provision into the CAMHS Learning Disability Service. The post is substantive with 10PAs per week being offered. The service operates Monday to Friday, with working hours primarily between 9am and 5pm. There is no on-call rota associated with this post. The CAMHS LD service is a friendly, multi-disciplinary team that includes specialist CAMHS clinicians, psychologists and medical colleagues. The base for this position will be discussed and agreed at interview and could be anywhere across the two Counties including Hereford, Worcester, or Kidderminster. This post has been deemed by the Trust as eligible for relocation expenses which will be applicable for suitable successful candidate(s). Please see attached policy for more information.Main duties of the job This post will be a great match for someone: With a consistent, child-centred approach to their practice. Who enjoys and wishes to pursue an approach that may include helping young people and their families when they have become stuck in patterns of interacting that is causing the family, including the young person, distress. Who is passionate about supporting families to explore the reason for a young persons behaviour or emotional difficulties, including communication difficulties, autism, sleep problems, sensory issues, family or relationship difficulties and stressful life events. Who is keen help young people to develop a better understanding of their own emotions and behaviours, where appropriate and is skilled at adapting their approach to meet individual needs. Who prioritises delivering a quality clinical service and strategic development within the service, in collaboration with key team members and wider Trust priorities.
