We are seeking a qualified coxswain to join the established Southern Western Ambulance Service team on the Isles of Scilly. The successful applicant will work alongside front line emergency crews responding to incidents that require sea transport. The successful applicant will be available during the hours of their shift, day and night, to immediately respond when requested, to ready the Sea Ambulance. They will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all that board the vessel, and the safe travel between destinations. Outside of the main duty of responding to emergencies, the successful applicant will also be responsible for the safe transport of patients and employees when requested for various other duties, such as patient transport, travel to off islands for community responder liaison, maintenance, cleaning, etc. The duties of the role go beyond skippering the sea ambulance, it is expected that the successful applicant be reliable, proactive, and engaging with their team and their community.
