Our Data, Digital and Technology vision is to be a catalyst for pensions innovation and regulatory effectiveness. We’re using digital, data, and technology to revolutionise pension regulation, making it more efficient, secure, transparent, and customer-centred.
Our data team has accountability for the data estate and is responsible for the organisation’s approach to data. We're data-enabled, not data-driven: we work with engineers, product managers, and other disciplines to understand how data can best support the needs of the organisation and ultimately savers.
We are on a fast-paced journey, and in recent years TPR has gone through significant technological and business change, including having fully migrated to Microsoft Azure. As part of these new systems, we have an enterprise-scale Azure data platform and engineering capability.
We’re looking for a Data Quality and Requirements Lead to join our Data team. In this role, you’ll take on the responsibility of ensuring that data at TPR is of sufficient quality to meet the growing needs of the business and services that depend on it to drive good outcomes based on our regulatory requirements and data standards.
Your role will involve establishing and leading the continuous improvement of TPR’s business-critical master data, conducting data analysis to identify areas for improvement and change, and spotting opportunities for ongoing quality issue management and entity resolution. This includes validating inbound data at source, matching, and merging of records where applicable to improve consistency and completeness.

+ Work collaboratively with data leads, service owners, and data SMEs to ensure data is collected, managed, stored, and used to drive value and efficiency.
+ Coordinate data quality activities, including data cleansing, matching, and merging of records to improve consistency and completeness.
+ Liaise and collaborate with other Government agencies to support a joined-up way of working.
+ Champion data quality and support new ways of working across the DDaT community.
+ Retrospective reviews of major updates to TPR products and services to audit adherence with the design requirements.
+ Provide line management support and direction for the Data Quality Team, prioritising activities in line with business objectives and the DDaT strategy.

Experience of end-to-end requirements gathering, data modelling, data collection, validation rules, data transformation and quality control monitoring.
Using ISO approaches to assessing data quality and blending that with recent DAMA initiatives such as Data Quality Action Plans. Practitioner experience of managing data quality including data quality reporting, production of metrics and dashboards.
Practical experience of Master Data and Reference Data Management including entity resolution for legal entity data (Party, Customer).
Proficient in engaging and managing commercial stakeholders to understand and define user needs and outcomes translating complex topics into simple design concepts and actionable deliverables and technical requirements.
Understand end-to-end data flow within and between systems, data dependencies and data quality control processes.
Confident engaging with technical stakeholders, including front end and back end developers, when contributing to solution design to drive quality standards, preserve data lineage and propagate relevant metadata to meet end user needs.
Ability to drive forward initiatives to support delivery of strategic goals.
Experience of leading a team, training and setting the direction using OKRs and SMARTER objectives.
Person Specification
