Full Job Description

Our client, a leading financial services organization, is looking for a Data Support Team Lead to work with business, application, and IT teams to develop and manage processes that enhance and expand existing data management capabilities. This role will focus on ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with business and regulatory requirements. You will be required to lead a team in supporting both large complex projects and smaller tactical deliverables as needed by our stakeholders and in alignment with strategic direction Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team providing effective 24x7 support across Data Management applications.
  • Maintain and update system technical documents and service operation manuals.
  • Ensure support aligns with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) set with business and technology groups.
  • Plan and execute software releases as part of the Release and Change process.
  • Manage and prioritize the BAU change backlog in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement high-quality application software changes to meet business requirements.
  • Investigate production incidents and problems, identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Utilize tools like ServiceNow to manage incidents, problems, and changes.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of AMD Database Engineering and Business Intelligence applications for effective BAU support.
  • Facilitate communication through timely information sharing with technology and business stakeholders.
  • Management Responsibilities:
  • Line management of the team, including hiring, managing absence, objective setting, and performance management for 10 individuals.
  • Mentor, support, and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Accountable for all aspects of the team's performance, ensuring high-quality support delivery.
  • Delegate responsibilities as required, acting as a representative for the Head of Database Engineering and Business Intelligence when necessary.

    Proven experience in IT support or operations within a financial services organization.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hardware, databases, operating systems, and local area networks.
  • Detailed understanding of software development and maintenance methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong grasp of strategic issues and authority on the systems development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies.
  • Experience running a support team across multiple systems and technologies in a regulated environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and SQL.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Line management experience, including hiring, objective setting, and performance management.
