Providing excellent nursing care. As skills and competencies develop taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the theatre area or department on a regular basis. Supervising and mentoring junior staff. DSU Band 5 Theatre Scrub Nurse We are looking for enthusiastic staff to come and join our Day Surgery theatre scrub team at St Georges. We are interested in hearing from staff who do have experience in scrub, however also from those who do not as we are happy to support and facilitate the training of the individuals who are keen to learn. We are proud to be one of the major trauma centres with a helipad supporting the South East of England . We also a tertiary referral centre for complex pelvic/acetabular, limb reconstruction, and complex hip/knee arthroplasties. We have 33 operating theatres between St George's and Queen Mary's Hospitals . Our staff work in teams and we are committed to keeping our focus on givingOutstanding Care, Every Timeto our patients. The main duties of this job role include:

  • Setting, monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of nursing care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensuring that nursing procedures are carried out in accordance to Trust's polices
  • As skills and competencies develop, taking charge and actively participating in and contributing to the management of the theatre area or on a regular basis.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Working to cover 24/7 services for major trauma /trauma and orthopaedics and acute emergencies.
