Decision Makers play a leading role by making independent decisions which stand up to scrutiny within the context of protecting the public and maintaining public confidence in the professions which the GMC regulates. Our Decision Makers work across a range of responsibilities, including:
- Independently making written decisions considering whether to reopen cases closed by our fitness to practise team
- Analysing complex evidence and exercising judgement in referencing the evidence
- Supporting the implementation of our corporate priorities such as regulatory reform and regulatory fairness The person We are looking for someone with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to make objective, well-reasoned decisions in line with legislation, guidance, policies and procedures. And the ability to communicate these decisions in writing, compassionately and sensitively, taking into account the needs of the individual customer. The role is home based, but you will need to attend team and other occasional meetings in the Manchester or London offices. The initial training period may involve occasional attendance at a GMC office, predominantly in Manchester.
