Full Job Description

As the International Employment Lawyer for SSP, you will act as the key employment law advisor across the company's EMEA operations. You will be in constant contact with key stakeholders across the business such as the People/HR team, leaders in a range of territories, and the board. You will provide specialist knowledge on employment law matters, particularly focusing on advisory support for our global senior leader's employment arrangements and the various global mobility arrangements we have across the business. You will need to be comfortable being approached for support, guidance and advice on a range of legal matters including, advising on employment contracts, HR policies, non-competes, temporary workforce issues, and redundancies. Having an input into executive hires (and exits). Managing relationships with external counsel in the UK and overseas, advising on litigious matters relating to investigations, disciplinary processes and performance improvement plans. What you'll be doing:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on international legal issues
  • Research and analyse legal issues in different jurisdictions
  • Draft and review international employment contracts, agreements, settlements and legal documents in accordance with laws of multiple jurisdiction
  • Advise Global People Directors on potential employment arrangements
  • Advise internal stakeholders on cross-border transactions and disputes
  • Liaise with People teams, colleagues, and third parties across different countries
  • Keep up to date with changes and developments in international law and regulations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with international law firms as required
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals and departments to provide comprehensive legal support and strategic advice
  • Advise on litigious matters and grievances where they arise
  • Advising on restricted covenants

    In-depth knowledge of international laws and regulations, preferably gained in house, in an international business
  • Experience in negotiating and drafting international agreements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Desirable:
  • Share Schemes experience
  • Knowledge of tax and international tax laws
