Full Job Description

Huntington Parish Council (in the City of York) is seeking to recruit a Deputy Clerk whose role will be to assist the existing Clerk in the execution of all Council business and to meet the parish council's statutory requirements. The Deputy Clerk will also be required to deputise for the Clerk in their absence.
At Huntington Parish Council, our Clerk is the 'engine' of our operation. They are the principal executive and adviser and are the officer responsible for the administration of our financial affairs. The Clerk's role is wide ranging, and an effective Clerk will be a hands-on multi-skilled manager.
They are required to work in partnership with other statutory bodies and the general public to improve delivery of services to our community. If you have excellent communication and organisational skills, the ability to develop effective working relationships with a variety of organisations and an understanding of the local government sector, then we would like to hear from you.
