Job Title: Deputy Headteacher with Teaching Responsibilities Salary: £49,782 -£56,337 (Dependent on Experience) Working Hours: Mon-Fri, Term Time Only Contract Type: Permanent Location: Fordham, Ely Are you an experienced and qualified Deputy Headteacher looking for a new role within a growing education provision in Fordham, Ely? We teach in small groups with a dedicated and experienced teaching team, ensuring that each student receives individual attention and care. We create individual learning packages to support our students' needs. Main Duties School Leadership and Management
- Deputise for the Head of School in their absence.
- Contribute to the School Improvement Plan and its implementation.
- Observe teaching, monitor pupil outcomes, and organise school promotional events.
- Manage policies, INSET, and staff meetings, and plan school events like results days and prize-givings. Curriculum and Assessment
- Foster a positive learning environment and ensure pupils reach their full potential.
- Oversee pupil progress, coordinate referrals, and maintain communication with parents/carers. Staff Development and Support
- Support the professional development and learning programmes for staff.
- Ensure staff assessment and development models are supportive and positive. Pupil and Parent/Carer Engagement
- Maintain communication with parents/carers, hold student voice meetings, and connect with local charities and community support officers. Operational Management
- Organise the daily cover schedule and provide teaching when required.
- Oversee registers, pupil resources, and facilitate cross-subject collaboration. Safeguarding and Well-being
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and assist with safeguarding matters.
- Ensure staff are aware of child protection procedures and support with referrals to relevant authorities. A full list of duties can be found in the job description About You
- Possess significant knowledge in teaching SEMH pupils, teaching across multiple levels, and delivering core curriculum skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Be able to lead and inspire staff, support pupils, and collaborate with external agencies.
- Comfortable using ICT effectively in teaching and ensuring equality of access to education. · Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS). · Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification/experience. · Complete Child Protection Training. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children and young person's they are responsible for, or come into contact with. What We Can Offer
