Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a proactive and flexible team player to join our Design & Technology department. You will play an integral part in ensuring the efficient resourcing of the curriculum across all D&T disciplines. As part of the Design & Technology team you will assist in enabling the department to deliver a practical-based curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities in Product Design, Food and Textiles by ensuring the efficient provision and preparation of materials and resources. The ideal candidate will have a background and keen interest in working with a range of materials and experience of various hand, power and machine tools. Experience of working in a workshop environment would be advantageous but is not essential. Strong communication and organisational skills are key to this role. Ofsted (2024) commented "Pupils' enthusiasm and excitement towards their learning is evident...Pupils conduct and manners are exemplary. They help and support their peers to do well. It is common practice to hold doors open for others and behave in a friendly, courteous manner. Adults enforce clear learning routines...Pupils sensibly transition between activities". The role is offered as full-time (37 hours per week) during the school term time and INSET days, however, applications from those interested in a part-time position will be considered. We can offer:
- A competitive salary with London fringe allowance and Local Government Pension Scheme
- Bespoke CPD to suit your career goals
- Staff well-being initiatives include an online GP service, an Employee Assistance Programme, subsidised use of an on-site electric vehicle charging and complimentary use of a new on-site fitness suite.
- An admission policy prioritising the children of staff (a qualifying period may apply)
- Lovely school grounds in leafy surroundings with ample parking. Please apply via the school website. Parmiter's School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all members of staff to share this commitment. Applicants must declare any criminal convictions as the post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointments will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service and references from previous employers. We are required to conduct online searches for shortlisted candidates in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance in order to identify any incidents or concerns which are publicly available online. We are an Equal Opportunities employer.
