An exciting opportunity for a passionate Linux DevOps enthusiast to join a unique, multi-national Information Management function. Ideal candidates should be committed to the future of DevOps, CAAS technologies and have the dedication in supporting our engineering community in a dynamic, fast paced development environment.
Salary: Circa £80,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1-2 days per week on-site.
Security Clearance: British Citizen
This role will require DV Clearance. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
We are looking for a Kubernetes specialist who is able to deploy, secure, support and improve our containerised solutions. In a developing structure you will have responsibility to guide our internal customers regarding their discovery and usage of Docker and Kubernetes and how best to use it and to create reusable containerised solutions that can be exploited by the wider MBDA.
The role will manage the Kubernetes environment and ensure the health, performance of the environment and future capacity planning. The role will work closely with our group IM functions and engineering teams to provide help and support of containers for rapid application development and testing. The role will also be able to support wider automation activities to support IT service.

What we're looking for from you:
- Strong understanding of technologies such as Docker / Kubernetes / Rancher / Harbor / Helm / Nexus / Artifactory / Python / Gitlab and Ansible.
- Highly proficient with Linux OS and strong skills in using command line tools and scripting (bash, python) for automation tasks particularly with RHEL.
- Strong understanding of automation tools like Ansible to automate deployment and configuration tasks.
- Good understanding of monitoring and logging tools to ensure continuity of service and expertise in security best practices for configuring and maintaining the Kubernetes platform and the running containers.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to analyse complex problems and devise effective solutions.
- Excellent customer service, teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
- Organise and conduct workshops to educate colleagues on the use of the Kubernetes platforms and container creation.
- Support internal colleagues to define containerised architectures, deploy, debug and optimise across MBDA group.
- Knowledge of Open Shift and CI / CD will be a plus.
