Full Job Description

To provide administrative and clinical support to the HEFT, who manage a cohort of patients in the community with enteral feeding tubes. This will include support to Registered Dietitians (RD), Enteral Nutrition Nurse Specialists (ENNS), Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (DAP) and the HEF Team Co-ordinator, in accordance with local policies and procedures. The post holder will work within the British Dietetic Association (BDA) Professional Code of Professional Conduct, the BDA Competency Framework and work toward completing the Department DSW Competency Framework., The post holder will work to deliver a consistent and effective administration and clerical support for the HEFT based on Department and Trust objectives and standards

The post holder will work under the close supervision and direction of the HEFT Co-ordinator/ RD/ ENNS with support from the Dietetic Assistant Practitioners to assist initially and work towards being proficient in the collection of information including but not limited to: anthropometric measures, biochemistry, nutritional intake information via telephone and email contact with patients/relatives and care providers

To order and monitor the use of nutritional products (feeds and ancillaries) under the direction of the supervising Dietitian/ENNS/HEFT co-ordinator.

To complete relevant patient case notes and input into data systems in accordance with Professional, Trust and Departmental guidelines

First port of contact and troubleshooting any immediate problems encountered by HEF patients

Booking new and follow-up appointments as requested by the clinical team if appropriate, including negotiation of dates with the patient and creating correspondence

To be involved in Health Promotion initiatives such as promotional events, study days and patient related activities, under the direction of the supervising Dietitian/ ENNS

To accurately record statistics on patient activity in compliance with departmental requirements
