Full Job Description

As a Digital Campaign Lead in the New Media Unit, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing digital marketing and media strategies that support the government's objectives of increasing public understanding, trust, and confidence. Working closely with government departments and 10 Downing Street, you will develop and manage data-driven, high-impact paid media campaigns that amplify government communications to reach and engage a broad UK audience. In this role, you will be responsible for creating long-term campaign strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing campaign execution. Your role will involve coordinating with cross-government teams to align marketing efforts with wider communication plans, while staying at the forefront of digital advertising trends to ensure best-in-class implementation and audience engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly strategic and analytical marketing manager with deep experience in digital advertising. As a Digital Campaign Lead, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing paid digital marketing strategies that support government priorities, focusing on increasing public trust and understanding.
  • Use creativity and innovation to produce highly effective cut-through communications for our campaign audiences.
  • Translating government objectives into long-term digital paid media plans, setting clear KPIs and defining target audience segments.
  • Overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across NMU digital channels, including social media, search, display, and programmatic.
  • Monitoring and analysing campaign performance, using data insights to optimise reach, engagement, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Managing campaign budgets to ensure efficient spending and high ROI, adjusting allocations based on performance and strategic priorities.
  • Reporting on campaign results and impact, presenting insights to key stakeholders, and providing recommendations for future improvements.
  • Liaising with the strategy and campaigns team, government departments and 10 Downing Street to ensure NMU media efforts align with broader communication strategies.
  • Working collaboratively with internal content, strategy, and digital teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all media channels.
  • Staying informed on digital media trends, new advertising technologies, and best practices to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage emerging platforms and innovative targeting methods to reach diverse audiences more effectively.
