Full Job Description

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a strategic leadership role in Further Education (FE) in Lancashire. As Director of The Lancashire Colleges (TLC), you will lead and represent a highly influential group of colleges at a pivotal time, with the establishment of the Lancashire Combined County Authority (CCA) reshaping local governance.

We are looking for a strategic and influential leader with:

  • Extensive experience in FE leadership, including policy development and funding.
  • A proven track record of shaping policy and securing funding through engagement with government, local authorities, and funding agencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and networking skills, with the ability to represent TLC at the highest levels.
  • The ability to translate policy into impactful strategies that support member colleges.
  • A strong understanding of devolution and its implications for FE (desirable).
  • Qualifications: Educated to degree level, with a relevant leadership qualification.

TLC is a collaboration of General FE Colleges, Sixth Form Colleges, and a specialist land-based and sports college, collectively serving 82,000 young and adult learners and 9,000 businesses across the region. As Director, you will champion FE and skills development, ensuring members influence policy, access funding and collaborate effectively to drive excellence in education and training.
