CHoICE Facilities Services are seeking a passionate, hardworking and reliable individual to join our team and fulfil the role of Domestic Assistant

The role of a Domestic Assistant is an exciting opportunity for people who are motivated, flexible, task focused and have excellent communications skills.

As a Domestic Assistant you would be responsible for maintaining an acceptable standard of cleanliness in the allocated areas using the correct cleaning methods, frequencies, materials and equipment, cleaning to the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2021. Cleaning is carried out in wards and departments throughout the organisation.

To deliver a wide range of high quality, effective and compliant Facilities Management (FM), Procurement and Pharmacy Services.

CHoICE Facilities Services provide a wide range of services including Domestic Services based over South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust sites., To carry out all cleaning assigned, making full use of guidance and training given, using checklists provided.

Provide a beverage service to patients and visitors as required.

Ensure all necessary equipment/machinery is fit for purpose before use and ensure is cleaned and correctly stored after use.

Use all materials and consumables in accordance with laid down practices.

Collection, segregation and disposal of waste materials, replacement of liners, in accordance with policies.

Packing, sorting, delivering and collection of linen.

Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in accordance with the cleaning schedule.

Ensure that all cleaning schedules are completed and checked on a daily basis.

Refilling of all dispensers including soap, hand towels, toilet rolls and all paper rolls

Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required.

Cleaning in close proximity to patients including beds, windows, curtain rails, window ledges, tables and lockers.

Work safely at all times giving due consideration to themselves and others.

Use the appropriate work equipment and PPE provided, reporting any maintenance, safety deficiencies and incidents to a member of the supervisory team.

Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Maintaining cleanliness of entrances, work areas and grounds as necessary

Shift Patterns

20 hours per week Monday to Friday 4pm -8pm

15 hours per week Saturday and Sunday 10am -6pm

Bank (0 hours) - as and when required
