Full Job Description

South Tyneside District Hospital is looking to recruit a DomesticTeam Leader who will be required to work across South Tyneside. From time totime cover will also be required, St Benedicts Hospice in Sunderland,Clarendon (Hebburn) & Palmer Hospital (Jarrow) A flexible approach to work and work routine is essentialas you will be expected to cover several different areas possibly in the sameday. Your work main work base will be South Tyneside, this is where you willspend most of your working hours, however as a Domestic Team Leader you will beexpected to visit Clarendon (Hebburn) & Palmer Hospital (Jarrow) onoccasion some other locations. Main duties of the job To co-ordinate, supervise thedomestic staff working within the Trust, and to provide support to the Head ofService. To Assist the Head of Service todevelop and deliver a professional, quality, cost effective service to provideand maintain a clean, safe and pleasant environment for patients, visitors andstaff. This will involve establishing adetailed knowledge of the service provided and developing close workingrelationships with staff in domestic services and the users of the service. To provide ongoing daily support tothe domestic team, stepping into a domestic role as the service requires (thismay be daily to provide cover) To supervise and leadership todomestic staff in the most cost-effective way., Toco-ordinate, supervise the domestic staff working within the Trust, and toprovide support to the Head of Service. ToAssist the Head of Service to develop and deliver a professional, quality, costeffective service in order to provide and maintain a clean, safe and pleasantenvironment for patients, visitors and staff. This will involve establishing a detailed knowledge of the serviceprovided and developing close working relationships with staff in domesticservices and the users of the service. Toprovide ongoing daily support to the domestic team, stepping into a domesticrole as the service requires (this may be daily to provide cover) Tosupervise and leadership to domestic staff in the most cost effective way. Coverand supervise at various locations Clarendon (Hebburn) and St Benedicts(Sunderland). Person Specification Special Circumstances Essential

  • Ability to work as a team player and alone and when necessary make judgements and work related decisions based on service need and priorities.
  • Extensive knowledge of domestic duties, deep cleaning and or environmental cleaning.
  • Qualifications Desirable Supervisory management qualification. Experience Essential
  • Working in a similar role as a Domestic Supervisor or Domestic Team Leader.
