Full Job Description

I am an amazing 9-year-old boy who has Cerebral palsy and other complex health needs, including physical, cognitive and communication. I need lots of support with personal care, but I don't let this hold me back or define who I am. I attend a local school and after school I need additional support to help me to enjoy social and leisure activities and to help with my therapy programmes.

I am described by the people who know me best as 'infectious, bubbly and cheeky.' I am sociable and have a great sense of humour. I love playing with my cars and trains and am looking forward to going to activities such as skiing.

I am looking for an enthusiastic, fun, patient, and reliable personal assistant to help me engage in activities and to provide some respite for my mum, who is my main support. You will need to be calm and patient under pressure with the ability to work your hours flexibly., Ability to drive with use of a car.
Experience of working with children.
Enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Hours
7 hours per week 2 sessions after school, flexibility essential.

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
