Full Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for a Drug and Alcohol Team Leader to oversee all the D&A administration and support service to the business and to Balfour Beatty Vinci HS2 Induction Project. To provide a professional and efficient team lead role to the D&A Administrators. As the D&A Team Lead you will ensure the service of carrying out and appropriately recording all BBV prerequisite induction checks, along with D&A tests and coordination of pre-employment tests. The process needs to be carried out in line with strict chain of custody rules and processes and all documentation needs to be completed and stored securely. Testing may take place at any of the group locations across the country and on client sites when requested. D&A Team Lead will also ensure that all relevant equipment and stock is maintained to the standards required to ensure the Induction process is completed to the highest of standards. The Team Lead will also act as the deputy to the BBV Lead Supervisor, and ensure that all detail and reports as required are completed weekly to ensure that the induction team meets there required KPI's.,
- Liaise with the D&A Team to accommodate workers' training needs, in line with the correct process
- Support the Client Services Manager in all aspects of the induction process and management of all staff and equipment, daily and weekly reports
- Support other managers with all administration tasks to ensure the efficient running of the office
- Ensure all calls and requests are responded to, or dealt with, promptly and professionally, or escalated where appropriate
- The link between the Client Services Manager and D&A Administration team to allow for a structure within the BBV Inductions.
- To ensure that all reports and information are collated for the Client Services Manager for the weekly Team and Project meetings including KPI's.
- Give detailed daily briefings to all staff, and manage the induction process whilst induction is being conducted.
- Lead D&A Administrator standardisation and team meetings as required.
- Ensure all resources are managed and maintained as required.
- To act as the Team Lead to all D&A Administrators and carry out monthly 1 to 1s and all staff HR responsibilities.
- To complete the prerequisite induction process for candidates, including checking their right to work, competency cards, taking photos for ID purposes, and issuing ID cards
- Maintain accurate documentation (both electronically and hard copy) as required to meet the criteria for compliance, audit assessments, accreditation, and funding.
- Complete Drug & Alcohol testing as and when required, ensuring all donors are available to attend and that the necessary facilities are available:
- Ensure relevant information/paperwork is collated ahead of D&A tests, i.e. the type of D&A (Pre-employment/Pre-sponsorship/Review/Random)
- Ensure the testing area is prepared and secure as per requirements
- Ensure the accurate completion of the Chain of Custody forms
- Carry out the tests in line with Chain of Custody rules and procedures.
- Thoroughly check laboratory results upon receipt for abnormalities/non-negative results/diluted
- Ensure all D&A and medical results are uploaded to Sentinel and Balfour Beatty Vinci system
- Print and store a copy of the medical/D&A certificates
- Ensure any D&A tests, which are returned (ie diluted sample) are re-booked if necessary
- Confident in the use of telephone and meeting people at all levels on a face to face basis to be able to plan and coordinate site visits
- Ensure all funding documentation is completed for funded candidates. Also, ensure that all necessary paperwork is complete, details are logged on the appropriate record, and Learners are booked on the necessary training programmes following completion of a successful drug and alcohol test.
- Ensure all BBV documentation is completed and cleared for all candidates
- Accurate upload of competencies to MSite
- Where required, attend training and development courses as directed by the company.
- Achieve the objectives as set out by Client Services Manager
- Where directed complete tasks as required by the business to ensure compliance, safety, or business continuity.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by acts or omissions related to your work. Co-operate fully with the management of the Company concerning any duty or requirement imposed on them by the relevant Health and Safety legislation to allow that duty or requirement to be carried out or complied with. Report all near misses, incidents, and accidents through the correct reporting chain immediately that you are aware of any occurrence.

- To assist with administrative tasks and ad hoc projects, as and when required
