Full Job Description
To provide business direction, compliance and governance of EHS and facilities requirements. This includes guiding of UK legislation plus Eaton internal MESH. Therefore responsible for ensuring safe working practices and EHS related training. Also ensuring the site maintenance and facility works are appropriate, to budget and timescale. Responsible for staff security clearances and security of site. The role covers Wimborne, Crewkerne and Brize Norton sites.
- To set and guide on EHS policy.
- Ensuring a safe workplace without risk to health. Safe plant and machinery, and safe movement, storage and use of items and substances.
- Ensures adequate provision of first-aid and mental health first aid
- Provision of suitable and current information and supervision concerning health and safety policies and practices. This includes UK best practice and Eaton internal MESH standards
- Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
- Provision of emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, bio checks and incident reporting to the relevant authorities. This includes management of OnColbe critical event management tool
- Liaison as necessary with other organisations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
- The workplace satisfies health, safety and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing and rest facilities.
- Prevention and precautions against, or adequate control of, exposure to hazardous substances, and danger from flammable, explosive, electrical, noise and manual handling risks.
- Auditing in line with industry requirements and reporting on health and safety practices and systems.
- Oversees the activities associated with the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
- Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labour, materials and other related costs.
- Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.
- Oversee and 3rd party facility management company.
- Support to new opportunity bids (EHS and Facility Management inputs).
- To oversee the employee security clearance service as part of onboarding and provide site security guidance including MoD requirements and maintaining site list X status Management of employee and 3rd party events on and off site.
- Responsibilities aligned to being a member of Wimborne Leadership team reporting to the Plant Manager.
IOSH/NEBOSH Certified. Preferably a member of a recognised professional SHE organisation Skills: - Good knowledge of aerospace and defence industry with proven experience in a EHS manufacturing environmentand. Proven and appropriate level of experience in Facility and Contractor Management. Also previous use and implementation of a health and safety management system including incident reporting and investigation
- Proven experience of managing direct and indirect team of varying levels of EHS & facility understanding
