Full Job Description

The Ashmolean Museum is offering an exciting new opportunity to join its Digital Communications team which oversees the Museum's digital communications channels, and is responsible for growing online visitor engagement, loyalty and revenue. The Email Communications and Data Officer is a new role in the team with responsibility for designing and building emails and automated customer email journeys, and for the collection and reporting of analytics from our email and ticketing platforms, our CRM, social media platforms, Google Analytics, and other systems. There will also be opportunity to support wider communications projects and to work with our web and social media platforms. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 36.5 hours per week. A hybrid work pattern can be considered for this role with a maximum of 2 days per week from home. On occasion you may be required to work outside normal office hours.

You will be technically and analytically-minded with an eye for detail, and comfortable with databases, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel. With experience of communications, membership, fundraising, ecommerce, or marketing activity, you will also be an excellent all-round communicator with the ability to write in an engaging way and to prioritize a busy workload. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, but this is not essential. It may also suit a candidate currently in a more technical or data-focused role who would like to move into communications or marketing within the arts and heritage sector.

As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees' wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer including:

  • An excellent contributory pension scheme
  • 38 days of annual leave
  • A comprehensive range of childcare services
  • Family leave schemes
  • Cycle loan scheme
  • Discounted bus travel and Season Ticket travel loans
