Consultant in Emergency Medicine 10 Programmed Activities (less than full time working is negotiable)

We are looking to welcome two new ED Consultant colleagues to our existing dynamic, well-motivated ED team. The successful candidate will join a forward thinking department that is presently staffed by 14 consultants (not all work full-time and participate in the on-call rota), 18 Registrar grade doctors (ST4+ or equivalent), 18 CT1-3's or equivalent, 12 FY2 doctors and 3 FY1 doctors.
The successful candidate will work across all areas of the department, majors, resus, paediatric ED and the Urgent Treatment Centre, that is run by the Trust. The on call commitment covers the whole ED, so candidates must be trained in both adult and paediatric Emergency Medicine. Whilst this is a general ED Consultant post we welcome applications from colleagues who are PEM trained and dedicated DCC time in our Paeditric Emergency Department is negotiable.
Croydon University Hospital is a large District General Hospital in South London with University status. The Trust is committed to providing the highest standards of care and treatment to the people in the Croydon area and is also fully committed to investing in new facilities, personnel and equipment., Croydon ED has an excellent reputation for the training of both F2 and higher specialist trainees evidenced by excellent feedback from previous GMC trainee surveys. It also benefits from being able to offer training in Emergency Medicine Ultrasound as one of our was previously the London Deanery Lead for this sub-speciality
Applications are welcome from those just completing their specialist training as well as established consultants looking for a new challenge. Prospective candidates should have completed a recognised training programme in Emergency Medicine and GMC registered. Candidates must also be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of their completion of specialist training at interview.
