Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician to join the Emergency Department at New Cross Hospital as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. The position will be on a rostered basis 24 hrs per day, 7 days per week throughout the year, hours negotiable (trainee position to be employed on a full-time basis).

We are looking to recruit qualified Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioners and/or trainee Band 8a (annexe 21) Advanced Clinical Practitioners into the exciting, fast paced evolving Emergency Department. Individuals will work across all areas of the department including resuscitation, majors, see and treat, paediatrics and same day emergency care (SDEC). The post holder will be responsible for the autonomous delivery of evidence-based care in the Emergency Department. They will work alongside the nursing, medical and AHP workforce

This role will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the Emergency Department autonomously seeing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. They will be able to provide assessments, order and interpret appropriate diagnostics and ensure a safe forward plan for patients. The role will work collaboratively within the ED alongside the medical and nursing workforce. Although primarily clinically focused the role will enable the post holder the time to undertake all aspects of the Four Pillars of Advanced Practice using their non-clinical time (80% clinical and 20% non-clinical)

To deliver advanced level practice this encompasses aspects of education, research and management but is firmly grounded in direct compassionate care provision or clinical work with patients, families, caseloads and populations.
