Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Engine Workshop Technician to join our team specializing in the Service, Repair and Overhaul of Cummins Engines at Workshop in Leeds, United Kingdom. This role entails a work schedule of 37.5 hours per week , with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM , Monday to Thursday (including a 30-minute lunch break), and 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Fridays. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Enhancing Team Skills: By coaching and developing less experienced technicians, you will elevate the overall skill level of the team, leading to more efficient and effective repair work.
  • Ensuring High-Quality Repairs: Your ability to independently complete troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products will ensure high standards of quality and reliability in the service provided.
  • Implementing Best Practices: Applying documented procedures and policies in diagnostics and repairs will standardize best practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all service operations.
  • Optimizing Preventative Maintenance: Conducting preventative maintenance based on thorough assessments will reduce the likelihood of engine failures and prolong the lifespan of engine products.
  • Accurate Documentation: By meticulously completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, you will ensure accurate record-keeping and facilitate smooth business operations.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Your role in coaching, developing, and transferring knowledge to other technicians and apprentices will foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
  • Maintaining Work Standards: Ensuring the cleanliness and proper operation of the work area and tools will contribute to a safe and organized workshop environment, enhancing productivity and safety.
  • Promoting Safety Compliance: Adhering to and enforcing Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation will help maintain a safe working environment, preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with regulations., To be successful in this role you will need the following

    Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with engine systems, using specialized tools and diagnostic software for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Accurate Documentation: Proficiency in completing all required documentation accurately and efficiently for clear communication and tracking.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to coach and develop less experienced technicians, effectively transferring knowledge and providing direction.
  • Safety Commitment: Strong adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant working environment., Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Advanced level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
